The Sunken City of Bilaspur
The Sunken City of Bilaspur, is a town situated on the lap of Himalayas, alongside the Gobind Sagar Lake in Himachal Pradesh. One can easily observe the town, while travelling towards Kullu-Manali. Since childhood, whenever I travelled towards Chandigarh or came back from there, my father always stopped in a restaurant named ‘Lake View’ in Bilaspur. From there we could see a vast expanse of the Gobind Sagar Lake. A boat rovered on it, smoothly sailing on the sea-green waters taking passengers from one end to the other. During the summers and monsoons, the lake water spread out in a larger area but during the winters and spring season,…

Countries that Struggled for Freedom
Since ancient times, the trend of extending a kingdom’s reign was predominant across the globe. Many countries ruled over other, suppressing their democracy and exploiting resources. In most of the cases, the suppressed countries fought their freedom back and restored their sovereignty. These stories somewhere make us aware about the fact that nobody should dominate anybody; everyone has a right to live freely in a space that they own. 1. Algeria Algeria was colonised by French in 1830, since then slowly they started controlling their produce, economy and then…

Life in a City around Air Pollution
Those were the winter months and finally my family decided to go out for a vacation. We went to visit my younger sister in Kota, Rajasthan. We stayed there for around four days. The city was dapper and well organised. There we could see studious teenagers walking or riding their bicycles around. The spacious city though was very close to the arid regions of the Thar Desert but still was greener and considerably vegetated and there was no trace of air pollution. We decided to stay for a day or two in Delhi as it fall on the way back to our home. Our plan was to roam around…

Stairs to Imagination
Those stairs are found that were once a part of my diwali hand made greeting cards, and I decorated each step with a diya ! The traditional wheat grinders and the pyramidal stones in the middle of a verandah adds up to the traditional Himachali look.

Organ Donation : A Help for A Cause
I walked through the main entrance to the hallway; there was a long endless queue on the counter. Everywhere around me I could see people, of all sorts. An old woman crossed me walking with a stick and her granddaughter helping her to walk out of the doorway. I had no idea where to go and whom to ask. So, I went near the enquiry desk, but there was nobody. I waited there for a few minutes. A security officer came near the desk, I asked him about the enquiry staff but he was clueless. I decided to move inside the hall and search the destination by myself. A…
